Just a basic overview of what MS D365 — Human resource provides at the surface level.

Microsoft dynamics 365 — Human Resource is a module by Microsoft that primarily focused on digitalizing the HR functions. This type of system is generally referred to as — HRMS (Human resource management system) that provides multiple functionalities for making the manual HR tasks as easy and automated as possible.

These are some of the sub-modules in MS D365 — Human Resources:

  2. Personnel management
  3. Organization administration and hierarchy
  4. Leave and absence management
  5. Performance management
  6. Learning and Development

This module lets the portal where employee will get to see all their information, perform basic tasks such as — Leave request, performance evaluation, Skill management, certificate management, task management, team management, performance goal creation, list of assigned tasks etc.

This is the module where the HR will add employees to the company profile with all their details. All the employees details can be found in this module.

This module takes care of the hierarchy maintained in the organization. As the name suggests, this module primarily focuses on different types of leaves and their accrual policy.

Performance management

Almost every organization follows a process for their appraisals. This module focuses completely on Goal management and reviews. These functionalities can be configured to get them in line with your own organizational process. Using workflows for approval process and email trigger, this module gives some flexibility in terms of creating your own process flow in the Human Resource system. Although there are some limitations as to what extent we can configure this module, this module doesn’t disappoint as long as your process has similarities with the already existing system.
Several functionalities such as Goal Templates, categorization, Review templates, Measurements, Performance journals, Competency, skills etc. are available in this module.

Learning and Development

For managing and keeping track of an employee’s Courses, Certifications, Statistics. This module provides features like creating Courses, Classrooms, Instructors, Questionnaires, Feedbacks etc.

This pretty much sums up the overview of this HRMS and I hope you got some basic understanding of the system. Let me know if I have missed out something interesting so that it can be added.
